New Dreams, Same Electric Sheep

Hello, new year. Let’s get on with it shall we?

Welp, this blog hasn’t been nearly the kind of thing I was hoping it would be, but that’s understandable, given the workload I’ve dealt with over the past semester. There’s been a lot going on in the past couple of months, so I figure I’d give you all an update.
First things first: Laura and I are no longer together. Thanks go out to everyone who has been supportive of me and Laura over the years, and for those who continue to care for us both.
Secondly, as of right now, I’m at my house in Canton, trying to get some much needed rest and relaxation in before the long downhill black diamond slope that will be the next semester of Seminary. I’ve got United Methodist Polity and Doctrine ahead of me, another Preaching class (which I am super excited about!) and of course, the second half of Systematic Theology, in which I write my credo. I wonder if they’ll give me any bonus points for writing it in elvish? It’s probably best not to write in Klingon, my professors seem more like the swords and sorcery type.
Since I’m trying to relax, I’m indulging in a few very much beloved and treasured hobbies that I’ve missed out on in the past few months, specifically reading science fiction, journaling, and playing the new Zelda game, all of which are excellent therapy for a much over-stressed theologian such as myself. Don’t worry, I am keeping busy; the UMC is seeing to that. However, I don’t mind it over much.
The Christmas holidays were excellent. I got to spend some really good quality time with my family and my friends, especially my brother Charles and his wife Kim, who are and shall remain super awesome. MAMPING was also excellent, even though we didn’t really stay in a tent. We did however stay at a really swanky lake-house and even got to go boating, which was very cool, thanks to Nick Thacker. All told, vacation has been great.
Now then, I’m taking suggestions for new Nerdcore Theology posts/articles/essays/etc. Any takers?
