In my experience, the makers of peace are rarely truly happy.
They struggle. They weep. They strategize, and make plans.
They fight without violence, but fight nonetheless.
It is only in defeat of violence itself they are happy
and as of yet violence still reigns in this world.
So the makers of peace wait. And wait. And wait.
Patience is their weapon. Determination is their ammunition.
Virtue is their mission. Silence is their language.
When all the bullets of war and strife forget how to speak
and all the bombs abandon explosion
in the end the makers of peace will truly be happy.
“Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.”
Matthew 5:9
