Evil talk is our first language.
Hardly a minute goes by unless someone is complaining
insulting, hating openly.
Judgment is our favorite hobby.
Word daggers rain from our devices
Blazing like wildfires in the minds of millions
And we pass it off as “speaking our minds.”
There is a difference in speaking the truth in love,
An honest conversation held between brothers and sisters
And vile, putrid hate dressed in Christian language.
There is a place for criticism, but let’s not kid ourselves
Into thinking simply because we are being honest
Actually means we are right.
Let no evil talk come out of your mouths, but only what is useful for building up, as there is need, so that your words may give grace to those who hear. Ephesians 4:29
