Bonds like ropes link us to one another.
It is easy to cut those ropes,
with words,
with thoughts,
with rash actions without any reflection.
These bonds are cut,
But they can be reunited.
They can be tied together.
Tying reunites, but the cord will always look different.
Over time, one can learn to splice them back
but that is a skill few know, nor is it always required.
There is beauty in a knot, a reminder of pain but also
A reminder of love.
“So when you are offering your gift at the altar, if you remember that your brother or sister has something against you, leave your gift there before the altar and go; first be reconciled to your brother and sister, and then come and offer your gift.” Matthew 5:23-24
