Grant Barnes, aka Grantimus Maximus, aka The Nerdcore Theologian. Currently, he is a PhD Candidate at the Graduate Theological Union at Berkeley, California. He is a graduate of Perkins School of Theology with a Masters Degree in Divinity. He graduated from Texas State University Cum Laude with a Bachelor's degree in English, minor in History. He watches way too many movies, reads too many books, listens to too much music, and plays too many video games to ever join the mundane reality people claim is the "Real World." He rejects your reality, and replaces it with a vision of what could be, a better one, shaped by his love for God.

Sometimes, when the Spirit gets moving, it begins to feel like you’re on a runaway train, hurtling down an invisible track, never knowing exactly where you will end up. So much of ministry, and life in general, feels like this. … Continue reading
Should Have Known Better, Acts 3:1-9
Miracles are a subject of much controversy in the Christian world. Also, the sky is blue, the grass is green, and the Pope lives in Rome. None of this is news. In fact, it is such old news, that people … Continue reading
Days 12, 13, 14: Rock It
I don’t think about rocks very often, but when I do, I do so metaphorically. The Bible, on the other hand, talks about rocks quite a bit. Rocks, and dirt. And mud. And all kinds of things like that. It … Continue reading
